Overview
We are currently seeking a GIS Analyst with a proven track record of spatial analysis, data management, and modern GIS workflows to support the GIS practice across the Western Australian region. This position sits within the GIS team, supporting internal Environment and Geoscience teams with data management and geospatial analysis across mining-related projects, including environmental approvals, ecological surveys, mine closure planning, and rehabilitation activities. The role is based in our Perth office, with flexible work arrangements including work from home, staggered hours, and additional Purchased Leave. Responsibilities
* Day to day tasks involve cartographic figure production, spatial database management, QAQC of spatial data deliverables, and providing ad hoc GIS support to staff.
* Collaborate, develop, and maintain field data collection techniques and schemas for field-based teams.
* Develop and maintain front-end, out-of-the-box web GIS applications (e.g., Experience Builder, Dashboards, Web AppBuilder) to support internal stakeholders and project teams.
* Conduct in-depth spatial and temporal analysis to extract insights from environmental and spatial datasets.
* Collaborate with cross-discipline teams to integrate geospatial solutions with other environmental projects.
* Build and maintain internal and external client relationships on allocated projects and opportunities.
* Stay up to date with latest advancements in spatial data analyses and contribute to research initiatives.
Qualifications
* Degree in Geographical Information Systems, Environmental Science or similar tertiary qualification with experience in GIS and spatial analysis.
* Knowledge and experience with ESRI Software Suite, including ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS Pro, Survey123, Field Maps, Dashboards, Experience Builder, etc.
* Genuine interest and passion for environmental and geospatial science.
* Ability to work across multiple projects/teams simultaneously, maintaining client and staff relationships while delivering work effectively and within time and budget constraints.
* Commitment to self-improvement and continuing professional development.
Preferred
* Programming skills - proficiency in Python or R.
* Experience in automation scripting including automated data ingestion using FME.
* Strong commercial acumen and ability to seek out new business development opportunities.
