We have a permanent full-time opportunity based in Sydney for a Fit & Construction Partner to join our Product Quality & Compliance team. The Construction & Fit Partner is accountable to create first patterns aligned to the BIG W fit standards and partnering with Designers, Production Assistants, and suppliers to ensure our customers can trust BIG W fit. This role will deliver product safety, quality and compliance on the technical design elements to deliver great fit and quality garments through the supply chain.

**About the Opportunity
Reporting to the Quality & Fit Manager - Apparel, your main responsibility will be to ensure all products are made in line with BIGW standards and meet required safety and compliance standards and regulations - other responsibilities includes, but are not limited to:
- Developing patterns using CAD systems (Gerber)
- Maintaining block library of core shapes
- Creating a Technical Pack, which includes: Pattern file, Garment Construction page, Measurement image and Product specification sheet, including graded specs for each new style
- Working closely with the designers to ensure accurate understanding and translation of the intended design
- Providing suggestions of the best way to construct or adjust garment and resolve any potential style and fit issues
- Fit and evaluate all samples against tech pack with designer, fit on live bodies when applicable
- Sending out weartrials on new development/new fits/revised grades when applicable with weartriail forms
- Trialling new shapes/ construction technique finishes by briefing offshore suppliers to submit R&D; development samples
- Ensuring each product is entered fully into the product database PLMS (and 1QA currently)
- Ensuring the product database PLMS (and 1QA currently) is updated with all new information as it comes to hand.
- Releasing all products for shipment (unblocking in SAP)
- Collaborating with BIGW Compliance and Quality team re. Standards, sizing, testing and other requirements to ensure a safe and compliant product
- Working with BIGW Compliance and Quality team to assist where required in any root cause evaluations and how to prevent potential production and QC problems in the future.
- Ensuring size standards, construction and fit of samples/production are consistent with BIGW requirements

- You have previous experience working in a similar role and hold a Bachelor's or Certificate in Design or Quality (apparel).
- You have strong knowledge of garment construction, pattern making, garment grading and a full understanding of the fit process.
- You work in a collaborative way with stakeholders at all levels and have the ability to influence and think through the end-to-end process.
- You will be seen as the Safety & Compliance SME from the different partners you deal with on a daily basis and have high attention to detail.
- You have a good understanding of relevant safety and compliance standards in your own product category with ideally previous experience using 3D design tools.
