National Field and Logistics Coordinator
Macro Group Australia is the leading game meat processor in Australia, specializing in the supply of high-quality game meat to retail, food service, pet food, and pet treats sectors across the nation. As part of our operations, we are committed to sustainable and ethical sourcing of kangaroos through the Kangaroo Management Program across SA, NSW, VIC, and QLD.
We are seeking a dedicated and proactive National Field and Logistics Coordinator to support our National Field and Logistics Manager. This role is crucial in ensuring the smooth operation of our field harvesting department, including planning, communication, and maintenance activities. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in logistics, transport, and refrigeration maintenance, with a keen interest in the meat industry, particularly game meat. The Coordinator will work closely with the Field Harvester and Administration Officer, sharing responsibilities and providing backup support as needed.
Key Responsibilities
* Assist in the planning and scheduling of daily operations for the field harvesting department.
* Coordinate with harvesters/shooters and manage chiller depots to ensure efficient operations.
* Support the management of truck schedules, maintenance, and chilled refrigeration systems.
* Liaise with government departments to ensure compliance with the Kangaroo Management Programs in each state.
* Assist in resolving any field harvesting‑related issues that may impact the processing plant.
* Ensure all compliance and quality assurance standards are met in the field.
* Provide after‑hours and weekend support as required.
* Develop and maintain relationships with harvesters and chiller operators to meet production requirements.
* Monitor supply, pricing, promotional, and competitive environments in the field.
* Implement systems and procedures for harvesting, chiller operations, and carcass delivery.
* Participate in the acquisition and sale of remotely based assets and oversee chiller relocation management.
* Communicate and trade relationships with suppliers of goods, services, and details in the field.
* Collaborate with the Field Harvester and Administration Officer to manage data collection, reporting, and administrative tasks.
* Provide backup support for generating invoices, updating price schedules, and compiling monthly carcass numbers for levy payments.
* Assist in maintaining, reconciling, and updating weight and quality data records, as well as generating necessary reports and spreadsheets.
Qualifications
* Experience in logistics, transport, or a related field.
* Knowledge of transport, a truck licence and refrigeration maintenance is highly advantageous.
* Familiarity with the meat industry, particularly game meat, is highly valued.
* Strong organizational and communication skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Flexibility to work after hours and weekends as needed.
* Knowledge of Microsoft Office.
