The Role
Our client is seeking a motivated and experienced Supervisor Parks to lead a dedicated team in maintaining and enhancing parks, ovals, reserves, and related assets. This newly created role is ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic environment and values work-life balance with a 9-day fortnight. Beyond overseeing daily operations, the position focuses on fostering a positive team culture, providing clear guidance, supporting staff development, and contributing to a workplace built on trust, teamwork, and shared purpose.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead and support a team responsible for maintaining public parks, ovals, and related assets across the community.
* Oversee the daily work of staff and contractors, ensuring tasks are completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.
* Contribute to planning, budgeting, and asset improvement activities.
* Collaborate closely with the Coordinator Parks and other internal teams.
* Take a hands-on, people-focused approach to enhance public open spaces.

The Candidate
* Proven supervisory experience and strong leadership skills
* Experience in parks, sports field, streetscape, or reserve maintenance
* A current HR class driver's licence and Construction Safety Awareness (White Card)
* Contract management experience
* Qualifications in horticulture or landscaping, with practical turf and irrigation maintenance experience
* Knowledge of Work Health and Safety (WHS) regulations and proficiency in computer applications (MS Office, Outlook)
Additionally, the following will be highly regarded:
* Qualifications in traffic management (Basic Worksite Traffic Management, Traffic Control, and/or Advanced Worksite Traffic Management)
* Experience or certification in chainsaw operation
* Previous experience in a similar local government role
