ICT Integration Engineer
Location: Canberra Clearance: NV1 Required 12-month Contract
About the Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced ICT Integration Engineer to support the integration of advanced simulation systems, including the M1A2 Integrated Tactical Trainer (M1A2-ITT) and Reconfigurable Desktop Trainer (R-DTT), into the Land Simulation Network (LSN).
This is a unique opportunity to contribute to a nationally significant Defence capability delivering Live, Virtual and Constructive simulation across multiple sites, with further expansion planned.
Key Responsibilities
* Design, implement, manage, and support simulation-based integrated ICT infrastructure solutions aligned with business and security requirements
* Configure and maintain Cisco routers, switches, and firewalls to ensure performance, availability, and compliance
* Support virtualised server environments (Windows/Linux), including VMware, storage, and backup solutions
* Integrate legacy systems with modern platforms, ensuring minimal downtime and seamless migration
* Conduct troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and performance tuning across network and simulation environments
* Develop detailed technical documentation, integration plans, configuration baselines, and SOPs
* Engage with stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver outcomes on schedule
Essential Skills & Experience
* Proven experience integrating simulation training environments using RTI, HLA and DIS tools
* Minimum 5 years’ experience in ICT infrastructure or network engineering, with strong system integration exposure
* Hands-on experience with Cisco routers, switches, and firewalls (ASA, Firepower)
* Strong understanding of ICT security principles including VPNs, IDS/IPS, firewall architecture, and secure network design
* Experience managing Windows Server, Linux, VMware/Hyper-V virtualisation, and storage platforms
* Familiarity with automation and scripting tools (PowerShell, Bash, Ansible)
* Strong analytical, documentation, and communication skills
* Ability to work independently and within multidisciplinary teams
Desirable Experience
* Exposure to Defence or government ICT environments
* Knowledge of ITIL frameworks and change management processes
* Database administration experience (Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle)
Must have a Current NV1 Security Clearance
