Our client, Offshore Oven, is a Melbourne-based business operating a Bakers Delight Ocean Grove Marketplace bakery under a franchise arrangement. The bakery is located in Ocean Grove, Victoria, where Offshore Oven manages the daily operations of the store while following the established brand standards, systems, and product range associated with Bakers Delight Ocean Grove Marketplace.
Bakers Delight Ocean Grove Marketplace is an international bakery franchise with more than 700 stores across Australia, New Zealand, and the United States. Each bakery prepares a variety of fresh products every day, including breads, buns, savoury items, rolls, and sweet baked goods, which are made on-site by skilled Bakers.
They are currently seeking an experienced Baker to join their team. In this role, the successful candidate will prepare and produce a range of baked goods such as breads, pastries, cakes, and cookies. The position involves measuring and mixing ingredients, following established recipes, and applying baking techniques to create high-quality products with consistent taste and presentation.
The annual salary for this full-time role is $76,515 to $77,000 plus superannuation.
Duties will include:
* Weighs, mixes or kneads, matures and moulds the mixture before baking.
* Uses tins and trays to load and unload mixture into ovens.
* Operates and observes baking equipment and temperature for product appearance control.
* Kneads and shapes the dough for the production of different buns and rolls.
* Prepare different fillings for buns and scrolls.
* Check the quantity as well as the quality of raw materials.
* Operate machinery dedicated to the rolling, moulding, and precision cutting of dough for biscuit production.
* Procures baking supplies from suppliers.
* Check the oven temperature and determine the baking times by the product's appearance.
* Manages all the baking activities, including loading, unloading, de-panning, and cooling off the bread batches.
* Meets health and safety regulations through checking and preserving the hygiene of equipment and utensils.
* Conduct the processes of clearing, sanitising, and applying grease to baking trays, tins, and additional cooking apparatus before and after the start of the production process.
* Identifies own learning needs and acts to maintain or improve skills to meet job requirements.
* Communicates appropriately with all staff.
* Consistently uses resources and equipment economically and safely.
* Approaches to work and interpersonal relationships.
* Contributes to the development and evaluation of food services with the Manager/Owner.
* Ensure all goods and supplies are put away on time on receipt of the same.
* Ensures all goods and services are dated with the date of receipt, and stock is rotated with previous stock being moved to the front.
Qualifications:
● Must hold at least Certificate III in Baking.
● Should have a minimum of one to two (1-2) years of experience in a similar setting.
● Must know how to prepare products to dietary requirements.
● Experience in kitchen operations and in managing a team.
● Overall good sense of flavours, sweet, and savoury products.
