Scientific Officer
Detailed knowledge and expertise in laboratory testing, including analysis of specimens and reporting of results, are essential for this role. As a Scientific Officer, you will play a vital part in the delivery of high-quality pathology services.
The ideal candidate will have strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work accurately and efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, are also crucial for effective collaboration with colleagues and other stakeholders.
* Conduct data entry and manage specimen reception
* Perform analysis of specimens, maintain laboratory instruments, and execute test reporting and validation when required
* Report urgent and abnormal results to relevant clinicians and participate in routine testing within Biochemistry, Haematology, and Microbiology disciplines
Key Requirements:
* Bachelor's degree in Science or Diploma in Pathology Testing or an equivalent qualification
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
* Minimum of 2 years of experience working in a pathology laboratory
* Proficiency in reading blood films is highly desirable
