About the Role

Tronox is seeking a technically capable and detail-oriented EI & C Engineer to lead the electrical, instrumentation, and controls engineering scope across both the Definitive Feasibility Study (DFS) and Execution phases of a major Rare Earths project in Western Australia.

This role is responsible for ensuring that EI & C systems are designed, integrated, and delivered to meet safety, reliability, and operational requirements. You will work closely with the Engineering Manager, discipline leads, and the Engineering Service Provider (ESP) to deliver high-quality, compliant, and constructible solutions that support the project's technical and execution objectives.

This position reports to the Engineering Manager and plays a key role in ensuring EI & C systems are ready for construction, commissioning, and long-term operation.

Initially offered as a 12-month fixed-term contract for the DFS phase, this role is designed to become permanent once the project achieves FID and moves into Execution.

Key Responsibilities

Design Development & Oversight

* Lead the development of EI & C design deliverables
* Establish and govern EI & C design standards and specifications across electrical systems, instrumentation, and control architecture
* Ensure designs are constructible, compliant with specifications, and aligned with execution milestones

Integration & Coordination

* Collaborate with process, mechanical, civil, and structural teams to ensure integrated and functional designs
* Act as the primary interface with the ESP for EI & C scope
* Engage with equipment vendors and technology providers to evaluate solutions and support procurement activities

Execution Support

* Provide field engineering support during construction, including inspections, issue resolution, and clarification of design intent
* Support commissioning teams in testing and validating EI & C systems, including power distribution, control systems, and instrumentation loops
* Ensure EI & C systems are aligned with operational requirements and safety standards

Governance & Reporting

* Implement quality assurance processes and manage technical risks and design changes

* Oversee preparation and handover of EI & C documentation for commissioning and operations

About you

You will bring:

* A Bachelor's degree (or higher) in electrical engineering (or similar)
* Extensive experience in EI & C engineering for major industrial or resource projects
