About the Role: On behalf of our client, we are seeking an energetic and experienced Irrigationist to take on a critical hands-on role in the management and operation of their sophisticated irrigation systems. You will be responsible for ensuring their irrigation infrastructure operates at peak efficiency, directly contributing to the success of their high-value horticultural operations.

* Analyse and determine critical hydraulic parameters, including pressure and flow rates, to ensure all irrigation systems are performing to their exact design specifications for optimal water delivery.
* Develop, implement, and meticulously manage daily and seasonal irrigation programs, scheduling water applications based on crop needs, soil conditions, and weather data to maximise water-use efficiency.
* Select, operate, and perform routine management of advanced pumping and filtration systems, ensuring a consistent and reliable water supply across the entire property.
Implementation, Supervision & Maintenance:
* Accurately interpret detailed irrigation designs and plans, applying them effectively to on-ground installation, system modifications, and operational adjustments.
* Supervise the installation of new irrigation infrastructure and lead a small team in performing proactive and reactive maintenance on existing systems, including drip lines, sprinklers, valves, and controllers.
* Take ownership of irrigation-related projects, coordinating tasks and resources to ensure upgrades and installations are completed safely, on time, and to the highest standard.
Essential Qualifications & Experience:
* A successful completion of a relevant formal qualification, such as an AQF Certificate II (or equivalent) in Agriculture, Horticulture, or Irrigation.
* A minimum of one year of full-time (or equivalent 20+ hours per week) relevant post-qualification experience in a hands-on irrigation role, preferably within a horticultural or viticultural setting.
Essential Skills & Attributes:
* A proven hands-on commitment with a practical, can-do attitude and a dedication to seeing tasks through to completion with a high degree of accuracy.
* The ability to work effectively and collaboratively as part of a close-knit team, demonstrating strong communication skills and a willingness to support colleagues.
* A high degree of self-motivation and the capability to work autonomously without direct supervision, effectively managing your own schedule and responsibilities.
* A demonstrated ability to adapt to new challenges, display a wide range of practical skills, and proactively solve problems as they arise in a dynamic farm environment.
