We're seeking a Pastry Chef with flair, precision, and imagination to join our talented kitchen team. This is your chance to create desserts that define moments; elegant, indulgent, and beautifully local.
About The Role
Reporting to our Executive Chef, you'll lead the pastry offering across our restaurant, events, and estate experiences from delicate plated desserts to rustic breads and artisanal pastries. You'll design, create, and refine with intent balancing creativity with consistency, innovation with tradition. This role suits someone who thrives in a kitchen that values artistry, calm precision, and a true sense of place.
You'll
* Craft and execute exquisite desserts that reflect the seasons and the region.
* Collaborate with the Executive Chef to design menus that are both refined and expressive.
* Lead the pastry section with organisation, energy, and pride.
* Maintain the highest standards of presentation, quality, and food safety (HACCP).
* Train and mentor junior chefs – nurturing skills, confidence, and creativity.
* Stay inspired – bringing fresh techniques, ingredients, and ideas into the kitchen.
* Support the kitchen team during service and special events with professionalism and positivity.
About You
You're not just a pastry chef; you're an artist with an eye for detail and a palate for perfection. You thrive in environments that combine luxury and authenticity, and you find inspiration in nature, produce, and people.
You Bring
* Certificate III (or higher) in Commercial Cookery / Patisserie
* Experience in a premium hotel, fine‐dining restaurant, or retreat setting
* A genuine love for local ingredients and seasonal expression
* Excellent organisational and leadership skills
* Strong understanding of HACCP and food safety
* Flexibility to work a rotating roster including weekends and public holidays
* A collaborative, can‐do approach you lift the energy of the team around you
