Iluka offers an empowering and inclusive work environment that is as diverse as the communities in which we operate.**About Jacinth-Ambrosia**Jacinth-Ambrosia is located 290 kilometres north of Ceduna. It is the world's largest source of zircon, and a Tier 1 deposit with extensive reserves. It is the first mining development in a mixed-use regional reserve – the Yellabinna Regional Reserve – in South Australia, with the operation demonstrating a commitment to high environmental standards and progressive land rehabilitation. Jacinth-Ambrosia site has a fully equipped modern camp with facilities including gyms, pools, sports courts, recreation rooms, Wi-Fi and Foxtel.**About The Role**The primary role of the Environmental Specialist is providing specialist technical advice and support to the site and to ensure compliance with environmental regulatory obligations, and achieve outcomes outlined in the *Jacinth-Ambrosia Program for Environment Protection and Rehabilitation* (PEPR). The Environmental Specialist is responsible for achieving or exceeding stakeholder expectations on environmental management onsite.Core responsibilities include, but are not limited to:* Ensure compliance with government regulations and legislation, company environmental policies and procedures and relevant regulations;* Ensure the J-A Mine is operated to minimise environmental impact, particularly in the areas of radiation management, dust control, surface water, groundwater management, storage of chemicals, waste and recycling;* Implement and manage environmental improvement projects onsite;* Provide expert technical environmental advice to Operations at J-A;* Radiation Safety Officer and management of radiation monitoring across J-A and Port Thevenard;* Maintain a comprehensive working knowledge of state and federal environmental legislation;* Actively promote best-practice environmental performance and proactivity amongst Iluka and contract personnel;* Manage and investigate environmental incidents and ensure appropriate corrective actions are completed and closed out; and* Manage statutory reporting of environmental incidents that represent a breach of regulatory approvals and/or legislation.**About You**To be considered for this role, you will have:* Bachelor Degree in Environmental Science or equivalent;* Specialist experience in environmental chemistry, soil science or radiation monitoring;* Minimum of 10 years' experience in an Environmental Science career;* Licensed Radiation Safety Officer (RSO) or willing and capable of conducting additional training to achieve radiation licensing requirements;* Capability to prepare and deliver environmental awareness and training to the Jacinth-Ambrosia workforce;* Analytical and critical thinking skills;* Advanced skills in: ArcMap (ArcGIS) and Microsoft Suite;* Current C Class Driver License (unrestricted);* 4WD driving capability and experience to navigate remote or off-road locations safely;* Proven written and verbal communication, influencing, interpersonal and teamwork skills; and* Previous experience in people management or supervising contractors.Additional qualifications or experience in in Environmental Auditing, NPI and NGERS reporting or nationally recognised drone pilot qualifications will be considered advantageous.**Our Offer To You*** Be supported through an inclusive and collaborative culture;* Up to 18 Weeks paid parental leave for primary caregivers;* Ability to purchase additional Annual Leave;* Competitive salary and bonus structures; and* Company share matching scheme.You will be supported, empowered, included and encouraged to be the best version of yourself.If you share our values of Integrity, Respect, Courage, Accountability and Collaboration; and you have the skills and experience to help us to succeed and deliver sustainable value, apply now.***Full working rights in Australia are required for you to be eligible to apply for this role.*****Applications Close: 8 May 2026**"We respect and encourage diversity in a workforce that reflects our communities."lluka Resources is a global critical minerals company with over 70 years' industry experience in exploration, project development, mining, processing, marketing and rehabilitation.
