Job Responsibilities:
* Provide comprehensive prenatal, delivery, and postnatal care to patients, ensuring the health and safety of both mother and baby.
* Conduct routine assessments and monitor the health status of expectant mothers and newborns.
* Educate patients on pregnancy, childbirth, and infant care, guiding them through the transition to motherhood.
* Assist in the development of individual birth plans and preferences, advocating for patients' wishes and needs during labor and delivery.
* Implement evidence-based practices and protocols to ensure quality care and positive outcomes for mothers and their babies.
* Collaborate with obstetricians, pediatricians, and other healthcare professionals to provide coordinated care.
* Maintain accurate patient records and document all nursing assessments, interventions, and outcomes.
* Participate in community outreach programs to promote maternal and infant health.
Essential Qualifications:
* Bachelor's Degree in Midwifery or equivalent qualification recognized in Australia.
* Current registration with AHPRA (Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency) as a midwife.
* Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
* Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
Desired Experience:
* Minimum of 3 years of experience in midwifery practice, including hands-on experience in labor and delivery settings.
* Experience in managing complex cases and emergencies during childbirth.
* Familiarity with the latest advancements in maternal and infant care practices.
