The Company
Paragon Talent Solutions has been engaged exclusively to partner with a well-established Australian provider of electrical and industrial automation solutions, supporting clients across critical infrastructure and heavy industry sectors.
The business continues to grow its presence in the data centre market, delivering automation and control solutions across design, delivery, and operational phases. As part of this growth, they are seeking a Lead Control Systems Engineer to act as the senior technical authority across data centre projects. This position is based in Greater Western Sydney.
The Role
This is a senior project delivery role, positioned as the technical go-to for data centre automation and control systems. You will work across the full lifecycle of data centre projects — from early client engagement through to design leadership, and delivery execution and support.
You will operate at both technical depth and strategic level, working directly with clients, engineering leaders, and delivery teams to shape outcomes.
Your responsibilities will include:
* Acting as the lead technical authority for data centre automation and control systems
* Leading and contributing to project design, technical strategy, and solution development
* Engaging with clients from initial meetings through to ongoing project delivery
* Working closely with the Engineering Manager to guide standards, quality, and delivery approach
* Providing senior technical oversight across SCADA and/or BMS-based control environments
* Supporting and mentoring engineers involved in data centre projects
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
* Extensive experience delivering automation and control systems within data centre and/or heavy industry environments
* A strong background in control systems, ideally SCADA-based, with consideration given to senior BMS professionals
* Demonstrated experience operating as a Senior/Lead-level engineer
* Proven ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels
* Experience contributing to project strategy, project execution and design leadership
* The capability to bridge technical engineering, delivery, and client outcomes
* A degree or diploma in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Computer Systems, or a related discipline
