We have an exciting opportunity for a permanent full time Wastewater Treatment Team Leader to join the Water Service Delivery Branch within the Council.

About the role
This role provides strategic leadership and applies sound judgment and technical expertise in the operation of wastewater treatment plants and network systems across multiple sites within the City of Logan. A key focus is the Loganholme facility, home to Australia's first biosolids gasification plant.
As a Wastewater Treatment Leader, you will be responsible for driving operational excellence through the execution of Logan Water's integrated daily service plan. The role emphasises proactive leadership, effective communication, and a strong commitment to safety and quality outcomes for both the workforce and the community.
As part of Logan Water's leadership team, you will collaborate with peers to shape and implement integrated frontline leadership strategies, supporting the performance and development of Logan Water's field-based teams.
Position responsibilities include:
* Lead wastewater treatment operations ensuring compliance with environmental standards and End of Waste Code.
* Collaborate closely with internal teams and external stakeholders, including planning, logistics, procurement, and safety officers.
* Promote a safety-first culture and oversee contractor work quality and safety adherence.
* Lead coaching, performance management, and succession planning to uplift team capability.
* Motivate and lead teams to deliver operational outcomes.
Key indicators for success:
* Experienced in supervising operational teams.
* Extensive experience in wastewater treatment operations, especially MBR technology.
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to influence and make reliable decisions.
* Lead field operations effectively, ensuring compliance and optimal outcomes.
* Ability to pass all pre-employment and background checks as required.
