About the Role
We are seeking a Payroll Officer - Part Time (Mon, Tue, Wed) - 12mth contract, based in our new offices centrally located in Geelong. This role will be responsible for ensuring the timely processing of payroll, cost effectiveness, integrity and accuracy of payroll-related data and processes in a flexible manner, to achieve business goals.
Key Responsibilities
o Payroll Processing: Preparation and processing of complex, high-volume payrolls.
o Software Transition: Assist in transitioning payroll software and associated time and attendance systems.
o Documentation Verification: Check all documentation for employee hours and leave to ensure it is authorized and complete before processing.
o Data Entry: Import and input all timesheet information, leave requests, and allowances accurately and promptly.
o Record Maintenance: Update and maintain payroll records, ensuring timely recording of new employees and changes.
o Superannuation: Administer, calculate, pay, and reconcile all superannuation contributions.
o Award Interpretation: Interpret awards, agreements, and contracts, ensuring all changes are inputted into the payroll system.
o Pay Advices: Distribute pay advices to employees.
o Tax Reconciliation: Calculate, pay, and reconcile PAYG.
o Leave Calculation: Calculate annual leave (holiday pay), sick leave, and LSL provisions/accruals.
o Termination Processing: Calculate and process termination and redundancy payments.
o Back Pay: Process increases and calculate back pays.
o Workers Compensation: Calculate workers compensation.
o Confidentiality: Ensure employee records are kept confidential at all times.
About You
o Experience: Minimum 2 years proven experience in payroll processing, preferably with payrolls larger than 1000 staff.
o Healthcare Payroll experience preferred.
o New Zealand payroll experience advantageous.
o Attention to Detail: Exceptional attention to detail to ensure accuracy.
o Analytical Skills: Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret data.
o Time Management: Ability to manage time effectively and meet deadlines.
o Software Proficiency: Experience with humanforce, micropay, workday or workforce desirable but not essential.
o Communication: Excellent communication skills to interact with various stakeholders.
