Clinical Psychologist - Out of Home Care/Whole of Family Team - Temp FT/PT
This is a rare and exciting opportunity to join a vibrant and highly skilled therapeutic team delivering specialist mental health care to some of the most vulnerable children and families in NSW.
The Out of Home Care/Whole Family Team (OOHC/WFT) is a Tier 4 service made up of senior clinicians who bring creativity, flexibility, and systemic thinking to every case—grounded in trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and attachment-based practice.
You’ll work with children in out-of-home care with severe and complex mental health needs, and support family preservation for children at Risk of Significant Harm where parental mental health or substance use is a concern.
This role is ideal for Clinical Psychologists with experience in child and adolescent mental health or child protection who are looking to expand their skills in a high impact setting.
Responsibilities
- Deliver specialist psychological and psychosocial assessment, diagnosis, interventions and consultation in order to address the needs of consumers who are living with complex mental health problems and disorders.
- Participate in the evaluation of clinical outcomes of services and assist in the development and provision of education and training programs.
- Supervise Psychologists and other disciplines working within the LHD according to organisational needs.
Requirements
- Full registration as a Psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia.
- Completion of an Australian Psychology Accreditation Council accredited postgraduate Clinical Psychology qualification of no less than two years full time duration or recognised equivalent.
- Experience in providing trauma-informed, evidence-based mental health and drug health assessment and intervention to vulnerable children, young people, or families involved in child protection or out of home care.
- Australian C-Class driver's license (including P1 or P2).
