The Human Resources Advisor will provide specialist advice, guidance and solutions across the organisation relating to all facets of Human Resources matters in accordance with relevant legislation, the Local Government (State) Award, the Local Government Act and Muswellbrook Shire Council's values, policies and procedures. This position will also be required to ensure accuracy of HRIS systems and provide recommendations to improve employee lifecycle activities.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide advice, coaching and support to managers and staff in relation to Council's Industrial and Employee Relations matters, and partner with managers and key business stakeholders to develop solutions for improved Human Resource management. This may include disciplinary matters, performance management, workplace conflict and industrial relation matters, ensuring recommendations and practices are in line with the Local Government Award, the Local Government Act, and other relevant legislation.
* Coordinate and facilitate core human resource functions, including but not limited to, recruitment, onboarding, performance management, employee lifecycle, etc.
* Manage and ensure the correct recording and integrity of data in HRIS systems of all position and employment related information and educate employees on the correct utilisation of HRIS systems. Provide change recommendations to employee lifecycle processes to ensure the effective use of the HRIS and HR initiatives and systems.
* Develop, review and implement policies, procedures and other documents that support Human Resource management at Council.
* Assist with Council's training and professional development for employees.
* Tertiary qualification in Human Resource Management and minimum 3 years' experience. (or related equivalent qualification and/or experience).
* Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (desirable).
* Return to Work Coordinator Training (desirable).
* Demonstrated experience and/or capability to deliver Job Specific Key Accountabilities (outlined in the Position Description).
* Demonstrated Developed Level key capabilities as defined in the Key Capabilities Table (outlined in the Position Description).
