Overview
We are seeking a Tax Manager to oversee all tax-related matters, working closely with senior management including the National Manager – Tax, General Manager – Finance & Tax, and Executive Director – Finance.

The Position
This role manages the Australian Tax function, ensuring compliance within the global framework established by our UK parent company. Key stakeholders include senior management, regional & group tax teams, external advisers, ATO, and State Revenue departments. Main Responsibilities
Tax Compliance
- Review and sign off on corporate income tax computations, returns, payments, and manage ATO audits and enquiries.
- Handle GST, payroll taxes, and FBT compliance and sign-offs.
- Lead the development of local tax policies aligned with the Group’s strategy and ATO guidance.
- Conduct internal tax control testing and manage the tax risk register.
- Monitor financial controls related to tax and recommend improvements.
- Implement tax process efficiencies in collaboration with the Finance team.
Tax Planning and Business Support
- Identify and lead planning opportunities, including M&A;, contract tenders, and reorganizations.
- Provide tax implications advice for business decisions.
Tax Reporting
- Review and approve tax reporting, including statutory disclosures and cash tax reporting.
Leadership and Culture
- Encourage team development and proactive tax compliance.
- Foster collaboration within the Finance community and with key stakeholders.
The Person
Qualifications and experience include:
- CA, CPA, or CTA qualified
- 10+ years in tax, with professional or corporate background
- Proactive, accountable, and team-oriented
- Experience with Oracle and in contract-based or retail sectors (desirable)
