Senior Speech Pathologist – Recruitment Pool – Peel Health Campus, South Metropolitan Health Service (SMHS)
Base location: Peel, Mandurah. The role is a permanent full‑time/part‑time position within the Speech Pathology unit, with potential for extensions and/or permanency.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide comprehensive speech pathology services to patients requiring assessment, diagnosis, and management of communication and swallowing disorders.
* Advise and train staff regarding complex disorders, policies, patient safety, and quality of care.
* Develop, implement, and evaluate patient safety and quality improvement initiatives.
* Supervise speech pathology staff and support staff in the unit/clinical area, coordinate duties, and manage performance.
* Practice consistently with the Speech Pathology Australia Code of Ethics, Scope of Practice, and SMHS policies and guidelines.
Qualifications & Requirements
* Registered Speech Pathologist with current registration in Australia.
* Significant experience in a senior speech pathology role within a multidisciplinary team.
* Ability to coordinate patient care and communicate effectively with multidisciplinary team members.
* Commitment to continuous professional development and staying current with advances in clinical specialty.
* Valid working visa (for fixed‑term appointments) or Australian citizenship, permanent residency, or indefinite work visa (for permanent appointments).
