Adults Assistant Team Manager – Epsom General Hospital, Surrey County Council.
Full-time position with an annual salary of £54,636 based on a 36-hour working week.
The role is a secondment until May.
Please discuss with your current Line Manager before applying.
This hybrid role requires staying in the office at least three days a week.
Working hours are 8 am-6 pm Monday-Friday and 8 am-4 pm weekends.
The position covers Monday-Friday.

About the Role
Based in Epsom Hospital, this leadership position is part of a high-performing, award-winning team known for a collaborative culture, commitment to professional development and a strong track record in person-centred hospital discharges.
The team is one of five acute hospital teams under the Adult Social Care directorate, supporting safe and timely acute hospital discharges through close partnership with health partners, patients, families and professional staff.
Key Responsibilities
Manage and support the day-to-day running of a busy, dynamic team, prioritising daily challenges and expectations (e.g., managing rotas, allocating work, overseeing duty function, attending discharge planning meetings).
Equip sound decision-making that responds flexibly and quickly to changing needs in a high-pressure hospital team environment.
Develop effective partnership relationships with individuals, carers, families, and professional health staff.
Provide support to the Team Manager in delivering a high-quality social care service.
Support staff to expedite discharges for vulnerable adults, and give specialist guidance on complex case work.
Supervise and support staff development and performance to ensure continuous improvement.
Required Skills & Experience
Professional Social Work or Occupational Therapy degree with current professional registration.
Significant post-qualification experience, including some management experience in a social care setting and excellent understanding of the social care and health agendas.
Applied knowledge of Adult Social Care legislation, including the Mental Capacity Act and the NHS Continuing Healthcare National Framework.
Effective knowledge of safeguarding vulnerable adults' procedures.
Excellent communication skills enabling team management and development of effective relationships.
Examples of providing effective professional supervision to less experienced colleagues.
Track record in inter-agency partnership working.
Strong commitment to achieving positive, strengths-based outcomes that promote maximum community inclusion and personal choice and control.
Willingness and ability to travel around the county to meet the demands of the role.
