We currently have an opportunity for an enthusiastic and adaptable professional to fill the role of Warehouse 2IC Supervisor (afternoon shift) at our branch.
About the role:
The role of the Afternoon Shift Supervisor is to organise, supervise and control all work activity relating to Assembly of orders, replenishment, receival and cleaning during the afternoon shift. All duties are to be performed in accordance to the written procedures.
Special consideration must be given to sensitive and high risk products to prevent their deterioration.
You shall apply a general duty of care to the health, safety and welfare of all persons as you perform your duties using the provided equipment.
You are to report any faulty or defective vehicle, plant and equipment or any unsafe work practices to the Branch General Manager. This is a team position that requires communication and coordination and requires you to be versatile to varying demands and locations.
Duties:
Below is a list of responsibilities that must be performed in accordance with the Bidvest Quality System;
* Unlock and open warehouse facility
* Allocate to and monitor work of picking and packing, replenishment, assembly, assisting with allocation of routes and cleaning staff
* Ensure random order checks are performed weekly
* Check and monitor staff attendance and place staff to efficiently cover any absenteeism
* Ensure that meal and tea break times are maintained
* Assist in the preparation of holiday and RDO rosters ensuring minimum disruption to the departments when staff are on leave
* Prepare despatch documentation, manifests, picking slips and invoices
* Check and file returned drivers run sheets to ensure all paperwork is correct
* Ensure that all equipment is serviced and maintained in a safe working condition and arrange maintenance as required
* Liaise with Branch, Warehouse Manager and Leading Hands as appropriate regarding any required labour requirements, procedure changes or problems affecting the running of the department
* Monitor staff's performance to expectations of job function, counselling and disciplining when necessary
* Provide training and re-training as necessary to ensure skill levels are maintained
* Monitor the cleanliness of internal and external areas of the warehouse and ensure the cleaning schedule are adhered to
* Answer any telephone enquiries
* Act accordingly to reduce warehouse expenses through minimising damages, wastage and overtime.
* Perform other related duties as directed by the Branch General Manager
* Represent & promote Bidfood at all times
