About the role
As an Affordable Homes Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the operational management of our independent living communities. You’ll be the first point of contact for residents and applicants, ensuring a positive experience from admission to discharge. Your responsibilities will include:
- Managing resident and client inquiries, admissions, and discharges
- Handling complaints, disputes, and incident reporting with empathy and professionalism
- Conducting interviews with applicants and maintaining accurate records
- Preparing resident agreements and ensuring prompt unit turnovers
- Supporting resident committees, parish initiatives, and community projects
- Liaising with internal teams and external agencies to resolve issues and support residents
- Promoting our communities through marketing and communication initiative
About you
You will be an experienced administrator and excellent communicator who is highly organised and can juggle multiple projects. You will be professional and empathetic in all dealings with resident, staff and external stakeholders.
To succeed in this role, you will have:
- Strong administrative and financial skills, including contract preparation
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written
- The ability to analyse information, solve problems, and compile reports
- A “can do” attitude, with a commitment to VMCH’s vision, mission, and values
- High attention to detail, confidentiality, and discretion
- Robust organisational skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- A current Victorian Driver’s License and a satisfactory National Police Records Check
