Key Responsibilities
* May work at various sites, including commercial buildings, industrial facilities, and aged care facilities.
* Identify and repair malfunctions in system components or wiring, including ordering and installing replacement parts as necessary.
* Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal fire safety regulations.
* Perform troubleshooting and repairs on fire protection systems as needed.
* Document and report all service activities, inspection results, and repairs performed.
* Show customers how to use alarm system, discuss any questions or concerns and ensure customers are fully satisfied with the service they receive.
* Stay updated on industry trends and changes in fire safety regulations.
* Install all wiring to connect system components, complying with all applicable safety standards and with customer's concerns or preferences.
* Review installation manuals, building plans and work orders to plan optimal locations for system components and wiring.
* Document testing results and maintain accurate records.
* Compose and submit documentation and reports for each installation or repair visit, complying with company's standard operating procedure.
* Collaborate with project managers and other team members to ensure timely completion of tasks.
Maintenance
* Conduct regular inspections and maintenance of fire protection systems to ensure proper functioning.
* Conduct routine maintenance inspections and testing of fire alarm systems and equipment.
* Inspect and test systems to ensure all components are performing well and comply with safety requirements.
Qualifications
* Strong interpersonal skills and communication abilities, with a customer‐centric approach.
* Experience in customer service and a commitment to ensuring client satisfaction.
* Knowledge of trading practices and familiarity with fire safety systems, particularly dry and wet fire systems, is preferred.
* Proficiency in using power tools and other relevant equipment.
* Ability to work in a team environment, follow safety protocols, and adhere to compliance standards.
* Physical fitness and capability for manual labor, including lifting and moving materials.
* A valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
* Relevant industry training or certifications in fire safety or trade services is a plus.
