This is a 27 month fixed term, part-time (0.4FTE) position commencing Term 2, 2026 with possible extension

Southwell Primary School (PS), situated in Hamilton Hill, is a small school that caters for Kindergarten to Year 6 students. We offer an engaging, safe and friendly place to learn, supported by the commitment of our team of dedicated, child-centred professionals and small class sizes.

The Role

As a Social Worker, you will ideally build rapport with our school community, undertake assessment of referred students and identify suitable services and supports. You would also prepare plans and engage in social work intervention with students and families including interviewing family members and making home visits. You should engage in multi-disciplinary team meetings; consulting and advising other staff related to specific cases. You would be responsible for maintaining accurate records, case notes, data and reports that support evidence-informed practice and contribute to trial evaluation.

o Demonstrated knowledge of school systems and operations and skills in working with a multi-disciplinary team setting.
o Demonstrated skills and experience working with children and families.
