Invasive Plants and Animals (IPA) significantly affect the environment, agricultural production, infrastructure, human health and our way of life in general. The IPA program directs, facilitates and delivers strategic and targeted action to reduce the impact of invasive species in Queensland. As a Science Technician, You Will Work independently, but under direction to conduct laboratory, quarantine, field-based and scientific technical tasks that support a team undertaking weed biological control research. Accurately perform scientific tasks in accordance with relevant standard operating procedures (SOPs), protocols or methodologies to support the generation of valid data and ongoing compliance with relevant quality standards, laboratory accreditations, workplace health and safety requirements and legislative obligations. Manage own work priorities to ensure assigned tasks are undertaken efficiently and effectively to meet project/team aims and deliverables. There are some qualifications that we see as essential.
