An experienced full-time Senior Dairy Farm Hand is sought to join a team vital to all farm operations of 950 milking cows across two farms, covering 1200 acres in Yambuk and Minhamite, a 45-minute drive from each other. The Role As a Senior Dairy Farm Hand, you will play a vital role within our dedicated team, contributing your expertise and leadership skills to ensure the smooth operation of our dairy farm. You will occasionally take the lead in supervising staff in the manager's absence, utilising your excellent communication, organisation, and leadership abilities to guide the team effectively. At times, you will also work independently, demonstrating your capability to manage tasks efficiently with minimal supervision. This role demands rigorous adherence to company controls, safety protocols, and environmental guidelines to uphold industry standards and promote sustainable farming practices within designated time frames. Your commitment to safety and efficiency is crucial in maintaining the high-quality operation standards. As the successful candidate you should bring proven experience in operating a variety of agricultural machinery, including equipment used in fodder production, livestock feeding, and other general farming activities. A strong background in animal health is essential, encompassing the ability to diagnose and treat common ailments, as well as skills in rearing calves. Your knowledge will support the health and well-being of our livestock, contributing positively to farm productivity. Our infrastructure features a mix of traditional and modern dairy facilities, including a Herringbone, 20-aside dairy and a fully computerised 50-stand rotary dairy.
