Role Objective
As a key member of our highly experienced and dedicated service team, the Service Technician will apply broad expertise across electrical and mechanical disciplines to deliver outstanding support to our customers. This hands-on role involves the installation, maintenance, servicing, and technical support of a diverse portfolio of machinery—from standalone fruit baggers to fully automated grading, packing, and palletising lines.
The successful candidate will need to work both independently and as part of a team, often travelling interstate (including at short notice) to meet customer needs across a range of facilities, from large, automated operations to small family-run packhouses.
Key Responsibilities
· Plan, assemble, test, and commission a variety of machinery and automation systems.
· Provide ongoing technical support and maintenance services to clients.
· Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical and mechanical faults efficiently.
· Support new installations and upgrades of machinery on-site.
· Maintain strong communication with clients and internal teams.
· Represent edp with professionalism and a commitment to excellent service.
Note: Experience with reading, writing, downloading, and manipulating PLC programs is highly desirable, though not essential.
Skills & Experience
· Certificate III in Electrotechnology or Mechanical Fitting and Turning, or a 4th-year apprentice in either trade.
· Current Victorian driver's licence (essential).
· Forklift licence (desirable).
· Strong fault-finding and diagnostic capabilities in packing environments preferred.
· Practical, hands-on approach with a strong technical aptitude.
