Your role at St John of God Berwick Hospital
We are seeking an experienced and customer‐focused Café & Retail Supervisor to lead by example and deliver high-quality service within a healthcare environment. This permanent part‐time role is worked Monday to Friday, morning shifts, offering consistency and work‐life balance while providing flexibility to support operational needs.
You will bring strong leadership capabilities, proven experience in team training and development, performance and roster management, and sound commercial acumen, particularly in labour optimisation, food and beverage strategy, and inventory control. Above all, you will be able to balance operational excellence with a genuine commitment to exceptional patient and visitor experiences.
The Position
* Develop and maintain a team culture of service excellence and commercially sustainable guest and visitor retail services.
* Lead and provide daily management for retail teams and physical resources.
* Maximise revenue through appropriate service and sales strategies.
* Prepare rosters and maintain leave liability and productivity hours to ensure efficiency and cost effective resources within budget.
* Review and report on monthly financial results, identifying and taking relevant actions to seize opportunities and mitigate risks.
* Ensure accurate and timely inventory management, e.g. stock takes and controls.
* Implement change and business improvement projects as directed.
* Ensure that recruitment and training is scheduled and delivered within budget and timeframes, whilst actively managing team turnover.
To succeed in this role you bring proven experience in team training and development, performance management, and roster coordination. You will demonstrate strong commercial acumen, particularly in labour optimisation, food and beverage strategy, and inventory control. You will possess an ability to confidently balance operational demands with a genuine commitment to exceptional patient and visitor experiences.
We will offer you
* Salary: $66,852 to $68,582 per annum (pro rata basis for part time), plus 12% superannuation.
* Permanent part time position working 45.6 hours a fortnight.
