JOB TITLE
Night Audit Supervisor/Relief Night Manager
THE SCOPE
As Night Auditor you will assist with night operations and create a warm welcome for guests overnight. You will also cover night manager days off, oversee night operations, and ensure safety and security of guests, staff, and property at all times.
THE TEAM
You oversee the overnight performance of the Rooms Division and Food & Beverage departments in the absence of the Head of Departments. You report to the Rooms Division Manager and collaborate with all departments—including Management, Housekeeping, Laundry, Sales & Marketing, Reservations, Telephonists, Maintenance and all Food & Beverage—to execute outstanding service for our guests.
THE DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Typical duties include but are not limited to:
* Welcoming late arrival guests and farewelling early departures.
* Maximising the guest experience while ensuring safety and security of the property.
* Attending to guest requests efficiently and effectively to ensure total customer satisfaction.
* Managing daily reconciliation of hotel outlets and completing daily revenue postings.
* Managing and auditing physical keys—tracking issuance and retrieval to ensure proper access control.
* Preparing and distributing relevant audit reports.
* Managing and confirming reservation details and accounts for in‐house guests, ensuring accuracy.
* Collating paperwork for departures and coordinating with the Front Office team.
* Responding to guest enquiries and requests in a timely manner.
* Ensuring an effective handover of issues at the start and end of each shift.
* Auditing the day's trading transactions and balancing before posting.
* Accurately completing accounting and reporting requirements as per the hotel's policies and procedures.
* Optimising profitability of operations and ensuring cashiering policies are followed.
* Assisting in the implementation of best practice and procedural operations.
* Coaching and encouraging the team to achieve success.
* Assisting in the development and implementation of training, encouraging a positive team culture across all staff.
* Communicating effectively and professionally with all staff and assisting as required.
* Ensuring all work health & safety obligations are met.
* Predicting, planning and resolving any mishaps to ensure a unique 5‐star experience.
* Being aware of VIP guests and their preferences to ensure preparations are made.
* Processing efficient transactions for guests, providing required financial documentation.
* Being accountable for hotel financial cashiering and ensuring correct banking procedures are followed.
* Auditing day's paperwork and amending accidental transactions.
* Performing regular security and safety walk‐throughs to foresee risks and prevent hazards.
* Being knowledgeable regarding current room rates, forecasts, yield management strategies, promotions, packages, and sales to educate your team and execute proficiently.
* Anticipating and exceeding guest desires, igniting surprise and delight with customer interaction.
AUTHORITIES
* All expenditure must be pre‐approved by the Rooms Division Manager.
* To undertake any other duties as required by Management.
