Job Description:
A Senior Mechanical Engineer is required to provide mechanical engineering services that are accurate, safe, on time, and within budget. The role involves providing technical and project management leadership and oversight within the sub-domain, developing a thorough understanding of ship and shore systems, designing and developing solutions, resolving engineering issues and problems, and ensuring all documents and artefacts are completed, reviewed and managed according to standard procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
* Act as an integrated member of the team and provide technical and project management leadership and oversight within your sub-domain
* Develop a thorough understanding of both ship and shore systems within your sub-domain
* Design and develop solutions, resolve engineering issues and problems for a range of situations relating to specialist knowledge area(s)
* Ensure that all documents and artefacts are completed, reviewed and managed and within appropriate standard procedures and the defined work instructions
Requirements:
* Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Mechatronic Engineering, or Marine Engineering
* Demonstrated experience working as a mechanical engineer with experience managing projects and people
* Demonstrated experience undertaking the design review and oversight activities throughout the engineering process
* Ability to communicate and operate effectively within a dynamic, challenging environment with conflicting priorities and managing multiple stakeholders
* Ability to be proactive and manage multiple projects at any given time
* Passion in maritime and a keen interest in developing vessels for defence
* Current NV1 Clearance or eligibility to obtain
* Eligibility to be cleared for International Traffic in Arms (ITAR) regulations
