This role is based at Sydney and reports directly to the General Manager of Commercial Finance, driving initiatives that enhance profitability through effective cost management strategies.
The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, proven commercial acumen, and the ability to build lasting relationships across industries.
Key responsibilities include overseeing a portfolio across multiple states, delivering innovative multimodal transport solutions, and creating long-term value for customers and stakeholders.
Responsibilities
* Financial Performance Management: Manage the financial performance of key depots within our business focusing on cost optimisation and efficiency improvements to enhance overall profitability.
* Operational Efficiency: Collaborate with branch managers nationally to identify cost-saving opportunities and drive initiatives aimed at improving operational efficiency.
* Analytical Tools: Develop and maintain comprehensive analytical tools including cost reports and dashboards providing stakeholders with clear visibility into cost structures and performance unit metrics.
* Operational Data Analysis: Analyse operational data to identify trends and variances providing actionable insights and recommendations for cost control measures.
Ensure compliance with organisational policies and procedures related to finance and commercial operations maintaining high standards of governance and accountability.
Preparation of capex/opex requests and business cases including tracking of capital expenditure project and asset creation.
Requirements
* 5+ years of senior leadership in commercial management sales or account management within transport logistics or supply chain.
* A capacity to operate in a dynamic evolving environment.
* Strong organisational self-discipline and people management skills.
* Proven skills in defining prioritising and organising competing tasks to meet deadlines.
Ability to understand the changing needs of the operations environment customer and market demands to enable the operational team to optimise the network better.
