This is an exciting opportunity to join Plyco Pty Ltd as an Assistant Manager in our Mornington, VIC 3931 location. As an Assistant Manager, you will play a crucial role in supporting the smooth operations of our busy building supplies business. What you'll be doing
* Assisting the Store Manager with the day-to-day management of the store, including staff supervision, inventory control, and customer service
* Providing excellent customer service to both trade and retail customers, ensuring their needs are met in a timely and professional manner
* Monitoring and maintaining stock levels, placing orders, and managing and organising deliveries
* Overseeing the presentation and organisation of the store to create a welcoming and efficient shopping experience
* Contributing to the development and implementation of store policies and procedures
* Assisting with the training and development of store team members
* Deputising for the Store Manager in their absence
What we're looking for
* Proven experience in a similar assistant management or supervisory role, preferably within the building supplies or cabinetmaking industry
* A minimum of 2 years assistant management or supervisory experience is required
* Building supplies or hardware industry experience is mandatory
* Strong customer service orientation and the ability to work effectively in a team
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with customers, suppliers, and colleagues
* Solid organisational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritise effectively
* Familiarity with inventory management and point-of-sale systems
* A keen eye for detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of store presentation and customer service
* A valid licence for both vehicle and forklift are essential
