About the role:
This role is based across Calvary St John's Hospital, South Hobart and Calvary Hospital, Lenah Valley. It is a permanent full‑time shift work position, working 76 hours per fortnight.
Shifts are rostered between 6:30am and 9:00pm, Monday to Sunday
The Patient Administration Officer is responsible for providing high‑quality frontline administrative support and ensuring an accurate and efficient patient journey.
Key duties include:
* Conducting patient admissions and discharges
* Managing patient reception and first point‑of‑contact services
* Performing private health fund eligibility checks
* Ensuring accurate collection and maintenance of patient information
* Reconciling daily banking and financial transactions
* Undertaking other administrative duties essential to patient services and hospital operations

* High degree of initiative and self-motivation
* Ability to prioritise effectively
