In this role, you'll:
• Lead independent assurance reviews of business cases and investment proposals to assess compliance with whole-of-government requirements and provide confidence to decision-makers on readiness for investment.
• Undertake holistic assessments of investment proposals, including strategic alignment, affordability, deliverability, risk and commercial considerations to identify key gaps, risks and opportunities to strengthen confidence in the investment case.
• Provide advice to project teams on business case requirements, including appropriate business case type, assurance expectations and applicable whole-of-government guidelines to support early alignment and readiness for review.
• Provide clear, evidence-based recommendations to project teams to uplift business case quality.
• Collaborate effectively within team, with internal/external stakeholders and project teams to support business case robustness and compliance, enabling efficient and timely business case reviews.
• Support investment governance processes by providing high-quality assurance advice and insights and maintaining awareness of the investment pipeline to inform forward planning.
• Promote consistency, transparency and continuous improvement in business case development and assurance practices across the Transport cluster.

About you
• Demonstrated experience in developing robust and defensible business cases for capital infrastructure projects.
• Extensive experience in options assessment, delivery and procurement strategy, management approach and monitoring and evaluation of capital infrastructure projects
• Proven ability to lead major investment decision-making processes, including assurance activities, within a large, complex organisation.
• Proficiency in lifecycle cost modelling, cash flow forecasting, and risk-adjusted cost estimation methodologies.
• Appropriate tertiary qualifications in economics, finance, or accounting, or demonstrated, relevant, equivalent professional experience or equivalent professional experience in a related discipline, with experience in writing infrastructure business cases, undertaking business case assurance or investment analysis.
