We're seeking an EL1 Assistant Director to lead and support high-impact policy projects aimed at improving the wellbeing of veterans and their families. You'll play a key role in shaping initiatives, providing high-quality advice, and ensuring effective coordination across stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
 * Work independently to deliver agreed projects and objectives
 * Provide secretariat support to an inter-jurisdictional working group
 * Develop and analyse policy, preparing advice for Ministers and senior executives
 * Draft correspondence, reports, meeting papers and ministerial briefings
 * Build collaborative relationships with stakeholders to progress priorities
 * Contribute to responses to the Royal Commission into Defence and Veteran Suicide
What you bring
 * Proven experience in policy development and analysis
 * Experience providing secretariat support to committees or working groups
 * Strong stakeholder management capability
 * Ability to work independently, show initiative and deliver quality outcomes
Employment Details
 * EL1 equivalent | Full-time (37.5 hrs/week)
 * Contract to 30 June 2026, with potential 6-month extension
 * Baseline security clearance sponsored post-engagement
