Davidson Technology are working with a large State Government Department to secure an experienced Cloud Specialist to provide technical system support and advice to stakeholders.
About the Role
As the Senior Cloud Specialist, you'll be responsible for providing specialist technical support and advice across cloud and virtual infrastructure services within the Cloud Services team, supporting both internal and external stakeholders. The role requires strong expertise in cloud and virtual computing, particularly enterprise-level VMware/Broadcom platforms, and involves system administration, identifying infrastructure improvements and risks, contributing to customer assessments and recommendations, supporting tenders and solution proposals, delivering product demonstrations and workshops, assisting with customer onboarding and project implementation, researching emerging technologies, and helping develop cloud cost models and supporting collateral to strengthen the organisation's private cloud offerings and broader ICT objectives.
About You
To be successful in this role, you'll bring strong technical expertise across enterprise virtualisation and private cloud platforms, with a particular focus on VMware/Broadcom technologies including vCloud Foundation, SDDC, vSphere Suite, vCloud Director, NSX‐T and the Aria Suite. You'll demonstrate hands‐on capability in on‐premises cloud fabric management, including administration, provisioning, migrations, capacity management and security, as well as experience with automation, orchestration, scripting and DevOps practices. Knowledge of hardware platform management, particularly HPE and OneView, together with an understanding of network virtualisation, data networking and broader core infrastructure such as SAN management, would be highly valued. The role may also require flexibility to participate in rostered or shift‐based work, including weekends and public holidays.
