About the opportunity
This role is a key member of the WA management team responsible for managing the safe, efficient and cost-effective operations of concrete plants in the area. The focus is on maximizing the performance of people, plant and fleet to meet operational standards while delivering customer service. The role also shares responsibility for sales and commercial activity within the area and overall P&L; against the area budget.
Key responsibilities
Work closely with Concrete Area Managers and Production Supervisors to achieve efficient, cost-effective operations at all sites
Ensure products and services meet customer requirements
Lead plant staff and drivers in health and safety, environment, operations management, cost management and operational improvement
Ensure safety standards are met through strong people leadership
Manage daily operations with a focus on continuous improvement
Drive customer relationships to achieve suitable outcomes
Control costs across plant and fleet
Demonstrate effective leadership to maintain a highly motivated team
Manage, develop, coach and support production supervisors, production officers, company drivers and other plant staff
About you
Credible leadership experience in construction/production/industrial manufacturing (ideally concrete or aggregates)
Tertiary qualification in Engineering, Business Management or related disciplines (preferred)
Strong teamwork, interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to build relationships within the Concrete business and across Holcim
Experience with SAP, Excel, Word
Customer focus with ability to cultivate relationships and networks
Demonstrated business and financial acumen
Highly organised, detail-oriented and able to work under pressure
