About the role
Based at our office in Newstead we have an exciting opportunity for an early career Graduate Bridge Engineer to join our team.
You will contribute to making the heavy vehicle industry safer resulting in fewer road deaths and injuries.
You will do this by working with local councils to help them determine the capabilities of their bridges and culverts leading to opportunities for modern safer and more productive vehicles to access more of the road network.
You will undertake reviews of bridge assessments performed by contracted parties and contribute to systems to automate heavy vehicle access decisions by local road managers.
This role will also support the development of guidance and training materials for road managers and asset assessors.
You will have excellent professional support working under the guidance of the NHVR's Chief Structural Engineer.
This is a temporary full-time role until January **** and you will be part of a close-tight-knit high-performance team.

About You

You will need to be able to build rapport and develop strong stakeholder relationships across multiple sources taking responsibility for your contribution to a body of work.
Previous exposure to AS**** (Bridge Design) grillage modelling of bridge structures (ideally using Space Gass) and experience in programming is desirable.
A bachelor's degree in civil engineering is mandatory along with a demonstrated understanding of bridge assessment and/or bridge design.
Any experience you bring along with you to the role will be beneficial but is not mandatory.
