About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity to make a difference in the lives of others. As a Disability Support Worker, you will be working in shared housing or in clients' own homes, providing various supports including personal care and daily living assistance.
Working across a 24/7 roster, you can expect to face challenges, but also experience the rewards of making a positive impact on people's lives.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide support for clients facing mental health challenges, behaviours of concern, and high medical needs
* Assist with personal care tasks (e.g. bathing, dressing) and manual handling
* Advocate for client choice while ensuring safety and compliance
* Support clients during respite stays, ensuring comfort and dignity at all times
* Log daily care and changes in needs to ensure informed, coordinated support
* Flexible and available to pick up shifts on short notice. Sleepovers are essential
Skills & Qualifications
* Resilience and confidence in managing complex situations
* An unrestricted New South Wales driver's licence and access to a reliable vehicle
* Demonstrated ability to use basic technology and software on a mobile and desktop
* A current First Aid Certificate, which includes the course HLTAID003 or HLTAID011
