A Bit About You
You live for shoot days and know how to turn real people and real places into stories that resonate. Interviews, b roll, events and doco style pieces are familiar ground, and you're just as comfortable working across property, construction and hospitality.
A visual thinker who stays calm under pressure, you plan with the brief in mind and capture footage that actually cuts together creatively, whether it's for a retainer client or a hero brand piece.
Leadership and organisation won't be beyond you either. You lead solo shoots and small crews with quiet confidence, make clear calls on locations and gear, direct talent with care and keep the day moving.
Back at base you ingest and manage media with precision so anyone can step in without hunting for files. Between jobs, you can put the project manager hat on and organise work, plan shoots and communicate with the client.
Three or more years would be ideal, but of course in this game, the proof is in the pudding. Your showreel should say more about you than a ChatGPT'd cover letter ever could.
You communicate clearly, look after the kit and ship on time. Creative, strategic and adaptable, you care about the craft and the result in equal measure.
You're the ultimate team player and adopt the attitude of "Your job isn't done until THE job is done."
The Role
This is a hands on lead shooter role that blends creativity with strategy across retainers and one off projects.
You will help plan shoots, then run on set production for interviews, b roll, events and doco style brand pieces across property, construction, hospitality and a variety of other industries.
In a try hybrid shooter role, you will be just as comfortable capturing still photography, from headshots, events, brand content, property/construction and in any of the other industries we play in.
You'll understand flash photography, lighting and how to direct talent for photos as well as video.
The edit suite is where you bring it all together. Colour grading, audio treatment and simple effects are second nature, and you move easily from sharp short form reels, narrative pieces and a variety of other pieces of content with ease.
When it's time for internal content, you know how to keep it fun without losing polish.
Collaboration is close with the Managing Director, our Social Media Manager, the Senior Video Editor and the wider social team so every piece feels true to the brief, on brand and on time.
* Ideally 3+ years of experience as a videographer, with a proven ability of seeing jobs through end to end.
* Creativity is a must. You'll be brimming with ideas, but more importantly, ways in which to execute them.
* Strong technical knowledge. Colour science, camera settings, lighting set ups, audio capture, colour grading, audio treatment and general editing are all required.
* Photography - Ability to tell stories through still photos, capture moments, use flash photography, bracketing and direct talent for maximum effect.
* Post Production - Ability to create scroll stopping reels, emotive narratives, high energy event recaps, creative construction updates & property videos as well as assist with our internal content.
* Composure & positive attitude - Shoot days are fun but sometimes hectic, so a cool head on your shoulders and solution focussed attitude is necessary.
* Organisation & Time Management - Sometimes you will have a perfectly laid out production plan, other times we will need you to plan shoots from start to finish and liaise with clients. Also ensuring you always have the right gear and are well prepared for shoot days come with the territory.
* Drone operations - While an RePL is advantageous, at a minimum you should have the necessary drone operation skills and be able to carry out shoots safely.
