This role presents a rare opportunity for a senior commercial litigator to take ownership of, and further develop, the firm's litigation capability within an established and respected practice.
The Opportunity:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Commercial Litigation Lawyer to play a leading role in our disputes practice.
You will manage a diverse range of commercial litigation and dispute resolution matters while working closely with colleagues across commercial, property, estates, and advisory teams. The role is well-supported with referral work flowing from within the firm, alongside the opportunity to build and deepen external client and referrer relationships on the Sunshine Coast
This position is suited to a lawyer who enjoys responsibility, autonomy, and the opportunity to shape the direction of a practice area within a high-quality firm.
Your Practice Will Include:
You will take carriage of, and provide strategic oversight on, matters including:
* Commercial disputes and litigation
* Estate Disputes and equitable claims
* Business and shareholder disputes
* Workplace and employment disputes
* Insolvency-related disputes
* Property-related disputes
* Negotiation, mediation
You will be supported by a junior lawyer and administrative staff, and work collaboratively with senior colleagues across the firm to provide a high standard of commercially focused legal advice and client service
Your Role and Influence:
In this senior role, you will:
* Manage files autonomously with minimal supervision
* Provide strategic advice directly to clients
* Mentor and support junior lawyers within the team
* Collaborate with the firm's commercial, property, estates, and M&A practitioners
* Contribute to the growth and direction of the litigation practice
* Play an active role in strengthening client relationships and professional networks
The role offers the opportunity to take ownership of matters and play a key role in the ongoing development and strategic direction of the firm's litigation practice.
About You
You will ideally bring:
* Approximately 5–10 years of PAE in commercial litigation
* Strong technical capability and sound commercial judgment
* Experience managing matters independently from commencement to resolution
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* A practical, solutions-focused approach to disputes
* Professional maturity, discretion, and reliability
* An interest in developing client relationships and contributing to the firm's long-term growth
