Senior Experienced Defence RF Engineer Opportunity based in Regional NSW - Relocation Assistance Available
Your new company
Based in regional NSW, your new organisation is an Australian-based defence technology firm that specialises in delivering advanced systems and integrated solutions across land, maritime, and aerospace domains. With a strong focus on sovereign capability, the company supports national defence objectives through innovation, strategic partnerships, and a commitment to operational excellence.
Relocation assistance is available for the right candidate open to moving to this regional location.
Your new role
The Senior RF Engineer is a lead-level technical role responsible for designing, developing, validating, and optimising radio frequency (RF) systems, subsystems, and components. This role works across the full lifecycle: from concept and simulation through prototype, test, integration, production, and field deployment. The Senior RF Engineer also provides technical leadership, mentorship to junior engineers, and acts as a domain expert within cross-functional engineering teams.
You will lead the design, simulation, optimisation, and validation of RF / microwave circuits and subsystems (e.g. amplifiers, mixers, filters, oscillators, transceivers, antennas). This will include developing forward-looking R&D initiatives, identifying emerging RF, microwave, and wireless technology trends and translating them into project proposals, proof-of-concept studies, and prototypes.
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this role, you will have:
* a current defence security clearance and eligibility and willingness to gain an NV2 Security Clearance
* a Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, RF Engineering, or closely related discipline
* significant experience in RF / microwave design, development and testing
* a deep understanding of RF / microwave theory (HF to W-band): RF component selection and design, RF PCB design with EMI/EMC considerations, antenna design, filter design, matching networks, EW signal modulation and EA techniques, high-power RF and amplifier testing, and high-speed digital design
* previous experience with, and an interest in, Electronic Warfare technologies
What you'll get in return
This role offers the opportunity to contribute to national defence capability through cutting-edge technology and systems integration. It combines technical challenge, strategic impact and collaboration with a highly skilled team. You will receive a competitive salary and a nurturing environment, where you will make meaningful contributions to Australia's sovereign defence industry.
