The Opportunity
We are currently looking for a Material Handling Industry expert to join our dynamic Integrated Systems Group (ISG) as an Industry Consultant, based in our Notting Hill office in Melbourne. The role will involve working closely with our Design Estimating and Sales teams to develop integrated solutions that are leading edge, cost effective and competitive in their offering.
This role blends analytical modelling, technical design, and client‐facing consulting. You will work at the intersection of sales, engineering, and data analysis, acting as a bridge between customer needs and practical, high‐tech logistics solutions.
This position allows for hybrid working arrangements, (WFH & office) in support of teamwork.
Key responsibilities
* Work closely with customers to understand their key business and operational requirements
* Analyse customer data and develop models to identify optimal solutions
* Translate client needs into technical and conceptual solutions
* Evaluate and use proprietary analysis/modelling tools
* Contribute to the development of warehouse/DC system designs
* Align solutions with both customer needs and Dematic's capabilities
* Support the sales team with technical expertise and design input
* Prepare proposals, tender submissions, and functional specifications
* Conduct client presentations that clearly explain how analysis insights link to integrated solutions
* Ensure compliance with relevant internal procedures
* Facilitate smooth handover of contracts/orders to project managers
Qualifications
* Preferred: Tertiary qualification in engineering (not essential, but a strong plus)
* Alternative: Strong analytical experience in Supply Chain also acceptable
* Extensive hands‐on experience in: Detailed Data Analysis, Warehouse or distribution centre operations, Material Handling industry
* System design experience in warehouse/DC environments: Product/Application knowledge in Logistics & Automation and Advanced proficiency in Excel, Power BI, Knime (data analytics platform
* Strong time management and ability to meet deadlines
* Excellent communication skills
* Strong analytical and numerical capabilities
* MUST have full Australian working rights
