About us: We provide a range of community health and support services for children and their parents or carers to give every child the best possible start in life. Services may be offered in the home, or in community health centre and clinics. Care is provided by a multidisciplinary team of child health nurses, health workers and early intervention clinicians (either social workers or psychologists).
About the role: The Clinical Nurse (CN) provides advanced clinical and problem‑solving skills, expert planning, and coordination skills in the clinical management of clients with complex needs, ensuring quality standards are met. The role works autonomously with the healthcare team structure and is pivotal in the planning, managing, and delivering of child health nurse care. The CN provides clinical leadership for professional and clinical practice, education, and research. The role supports in management activities including portfolio responsibilities.
About you
* Registration as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and a current practising certificate.
* A relevant postgraduate certificate or postgraduate diploma desirable. If not held, commitment to completion within an agreed timeframe is expected and will be part of the performance and development plan.
* Completion of an immunisation course approved by Queensland Health and ability to complete Central Queensland credentialing application for immunisation. A lactation consultant qualification would be highly regarded.
