This entry-level position is ideal for a school leaver or someone starting out in the workforce who wants to gain valuable experience in property maintenance within a supportive team environment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Assist with general repairs and maintenance tasks across the hotel
* Painting, patching, and basic handyman work
* Minor plumbing and carpentry, under guidance
* Pool cleaning, chemical checks, and general pool area upkeep
* Gardening, weeding, and light landscaping around hotel grounds
* Support the Maintenance Manager with scheduled and preventative work
* Respond to guest and staff maintenance requests
* Maintain a safe, tidy, and functional work environment
What We're Looking For:
* A genuine interest in hands-on work and building maintenance
* Basic experience with tools or DIY tasks (preferred but not essential)
* Willingness to learn and follow direction
* Strong work ethic and good communication skills
* Physically fit and reliable
* White Card (Construction Induction Card) or the ability to obtain one
* Must be local to Cairns – no 88-day visa applicants please
