Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Culinary Operations Manager to lead our kitchen team in delivering high-quality food and beverage services. As the head of culinary operations, you will be responsible for ensuring the delivery of exceptional dining experiences for our residents, fostering a safe and respectful work environment, and collaborating with our leadership team to drive operational excellence.
About the Role
This is a full-time opportunity that involves leading a small team of chefs and kitchen staff in preparing and serving meals in various settings, including the dining hall, café, in-room dining, and events. You will play a key role in building and maintaining strong relationships with our residents, colleagues, and support teams, underpinning our core values of respect, dignity, and quality care.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement menus that meet residents' dietary needs and preferences
- Lead and coach kitchen teams in workplace safety routines and checklists
- Participate in our chef community to share ideas and best practices
- Manage budgets, procurement, stocktakes, and equipment maintenance processes
- Collaborate with other department heads to execute strategic and operational outcomes
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement and learning
Requirements
- Proven experience in commercial kitchens for at least 5 years
- Leadership experience in managing kitchen teams
- Strong communication skills for liaising with diverse stakeholders
- Commitment to continuous development and upskilling
- Qualification in Certificate III or higher in Commercial Cookery, with a valid Food Safety Supervisors certificate
