About the Centre
This role is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of a retail centre in Canberra, with occasional travel to secondary locations for audits.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and coordinate site operations to ensure exceptional service and performance standards.
* Establish and manage a Planned Preventive Maintenance Program to guarantee equipment effectiveness.
* Oversee day-to-day management of operations, risk, compliance, contractor relationships, assist in tenancy design and delivery, and scope capital works.
* Offer recommendations for process improvements on maintenance and operational issues.
* Conduct regular inspections of the entire property, including common areas and plant rooms.
* Support the centre manager in preparing annual operating and capital budgets, and contribute to delivering budget targets.
* Ensure Emergency Evacuation Training and Procedures are compliant and adhered to.
* Collaborate with the centre manager to drive sustainability goals, focusing on waste/recycling, energy, and water efficiencies.
* Promote partnership collaboration and relationship management with contractors, tenants, and clients.
Requirements
* A minimum of 3 years' experience in commercial/retail/industrial facilities or property management.
* Trade qualification preferred (electrical, mechanical engineering, or plumbing), or significant work experience and demonstrated success in a similar role or related industry.
* Hold a valid driver's license for job requirements.
* Demonstrate a solid understanding of all aspects of Facilities Management.
* Exhibit excellent written and oral communication skills.
* A practical approach with a can-do attitude.
This is a mid-senior level full-time position, reporting directly to the Centre Manager.
