The Opportunity:
ADCG is seeking an experienced and proactive Commercial and Finance Manager to join our growing team. This is a full-time (38-hour/week) role, ideally based in Canberra but open to all locations in Australia. This is a hybrid role, primarily based at a home office, with occasional in-office attendance in Canberra.
Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the Commercial and Finance Manager plays an important role in ensuring timely, accurate and compliant commercial and financial operations.
This dual-focused role will support both commercial and financial domains, working with multiple stakeholders and several executives with one direct report working directly to this manager level position.
As a key member of our business support team, you will directly manage ADCG’s commercial activities and manage the finance team. Duties will include developing, maintaining and updating a suite of commercial documents including a range of commercial agreements and contracts and include advising executives on the commercial considerations of entering into new agreements. In the finance domain you will be responsible for managing and conducting finance administration and reporting. You’ll play an integral role in developing and updating processes, maintaining documentation, and ensuring smooth communication between business units including Finance, HR, and Marketing.
Your day-to-day duties will include:
* Leading all commercial agreement and contract lines of effort, updating current documents and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), developing new documents and SOPs where required, and advising the executive team on new commercial considerations
* Management of and support to end-to-end finance operations, including accounts payable and receivable, payroll, invoicing, reconciliations, and accounting
* Responding to accounts enquiries, from both individual and corporate clients
* Maintaining accurate financial data across accounting and CRM systems
* Monitoring and following up outstanding invoices and payments
* Supervising and when required conducting month-end processes, reporting and financial record maintenance, providing reports and briefing Executives
* Leading the development and maintenance of finance procedures and SOP’s
* Provide general commercial, finance and administrative support to the broader ADCG team
* Managing a small but growing team.
Key Requirements:
* A current AGSVA security clearance, or the ability to obtain and maintain one is essential. Applicants who do not meet this requirement will not be considered. Australian citizenship is a prerequisite for AGSVA security clearance sponsorship.
* Previous experience (ideally 5-10 years) in finance, accounts, or commercial officer roles, bringing a sound understanding of fundamental commercial and financial processes
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
* Confident using MS Office, CRM, payroll and accounting applications
* Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
* Proven organisational and time management skills
Sought after but not required:
* Certificate IV or higher in Finance, Accounting or Business Administration is preferred but not required.
* Applicants with backgrounds and experience in Accounting will be viewed more competitively
