Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.Katanning Primary School is located in the Great Southern Region of WA. It is part of the Wheatbelt Education Region and the Great Southern Schools Network. Our school caters for students in KindiLink, for families with a three-year-old child, to Year 6. Like our wider community, our school welcomes and appreciates its rich cultural diversity: over 30% of our students are Aboriginal and over 30% speak a language other than English at home. A solid understanding of, and experience working with students with a range of disabilities and learning difficulties is highly desirable, along with the ability to foster both academic and social growth within the classroom setting.Applicants should also demonstrate knowledge of effective support strategies for students, combined with strong organisational skills and the ability to use initiative. Demonstrated good interpersonal skills, including the ability to work as part of a team in the evaluation of educational programs, including special education and therapy programs where these have been implemented. Demonstrated good organisational skills that will assist in the delivery and development of effective education programs to students and subsequent feedback to teaching professionals or psychologists. Demonstrated ability to assist teachers or therapists in implementing educational programs, including special education and, should this be a requirement of the position, occupational and/or physiotherapy programs. Demonstrated knowledge of health and physical disabilities in students and adolescents.
