Due to significant growth in the contaminated land industry, Canopy Enterprises are expanding our team in the Greater Sydney area and are seeking to fill a position for an experienced Environmental Engineer/ Contaminated Land Scientist with at least five years’ experience. This new and exciting opportunity will suit an independent and appropriately qualified and experienced environmental scientist/engineer seeking a balanced work and home life with flexible options (including a 4 day week if preferred). Responsible for a balance of field work and reporting predominantly WFH with group meetings and Microsoft TEAMs meetings as needed.
To be successful in this role, you are expected to have:
- Candidate qualified with a CEnvP (or equivalent) preferred
- Experienced > 5 years in Contaminated Land Management and Remediation, Waste Classification and preferably Acid Sulfate Soils Assessment
- Experience in Contaminated Land Assessments - fieldworks (typically utilising a drill -rig) through to final reporting phase
- You will be supported and mentored by our CEnvP (SC) Certified Principal Environmental Engineer, who also holds a PhD in petroleum engineering, during your probationary period and subsequently on larger and more complex projects.
- You must demonstrate a capacity to work autonomously in an effective and disciplined manner for both the fieldworks and the reporting component on smaller projects.
- Ability to work and think independently as well as in a team with other professionals or project stakeholders to promote continuous improvement of workflows and project outcomes.
- Proficient computer skills, preferably including AI with an ability to independently prepare and format detailed environmental reports, inclusive of effective management of laboratory analysis data, ProUCl etc.
- Proficient verbal and written communication and social skills.
- Commitment to developing strong technical knowledge.
- Capacity to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.

Salary: Salary/remuneration range expected between $110,000 -$130,000 according to qualifications and experience. Company vehicle may also be provided.
